Leia-FurEver In Care
Hello I am Leia, I came to Paws in Need in ruff shape. I was very underweight! I am now gaining a bit more weight but still very medically fragile. I am incontinent and need ongoing monitoring daily. Although the vets are still working on my diagnosis, I am trying to best to live each day to the fullest! I am a total sweetheart.
At this time the rescue has decided that due to my fragile nature & medical needs I will be furever in care. Please donate to my care today! E-transfer to amanda@pawsinneedrescue.com Thank you! <3 Leia |
Salter-Furver in care
Name: Salter
Gender: Female
Age: 3 years in December 2020
Breed: Pyrenees X
Size: XL (90 lbs)
Energy level: Medium-High
Rescue story: I was born into care after my mom was surrendered from a rural area. I was then adopted and my owners tried very hard to work with me & did lots of training but I was still a handful so I was given back to the rescue.
Hi! My name is Salter -
My mom, Sandy, had 12 puppies, but only 10 of us survived 3 years ago. I was adopted and then returned because my new owners felt like they could not handle me after much training and adapting. I am a super sweet girl who has done training and knows basic commands in my puppy years. I am a very cuddly girl who thinks 90lbs is a good lap dog weight! I love my tummy rubs! I do like people but new humans tend to take me more time to warm up with, I also prefer females rather than males. I also love my toys, sometimes too much and will become protective of them and will not back down. I am tall so please keep counter areas free of accessible foods. I was house trained before when living in the house and kennel trained but am so big I need an XL heavy duty crate (we can give you an example of this), I am only able to kennel sometimes and would prefer to be free. I used to be good on car rides, but can drool as the motion makes me sick; I have not been in a vehicle for a very long time and would need re-training on this as I won’t get in at all anymore. I am currently on medication (fluoxetine) for my anxiety issues. I do have some resource guarding issues and leash walking issues where I can become reactive. I have been living at the daycare since I was returned, where I have been roaming free inside & out (minimal kenneling has occurred when needed). I am a VERY stubborn girl, as typical for my breed (please read about my breed before applying). Also since being indoors I do tend to have potty training issues at times & sometimes just because I refuse to go outside. I can also be VERY protective of my property and should be in a home where strangers won’t easily enter the yard without proper intros.
**Medication: I am on daily Fluoxetine for my resource guarding issues & anxiety, I also need a special diet of Low Fat Gastrointestinal food or Dental Food**
At this time the rescue has decided that due to my behavioral/reactivity issues I will be furever in care.

Graham-Medical Hold
Name: Graham
Gender: Male Age: approx. 10 months (as of March 2020) Breed: Domestic Long Hair Rescue Story: Owner surrender Good with cats?: No, I am not good at making friends and can be a bully Good with dogs?: No, I am not good at making friends and can be a bully Good with kids?: yes Hi, my name is Graham. I was returned when I became too demanding of attention and was being rude to the dog in the home. It’s possible that my poor manners are because I wasn’t feeling well, I have been to the vet and they are trying to help me feel better with some medications. So far it looks like I am having an inappropriate autoimmune response to the normal bacteria in my mouth, which is causing my gums to become very inflamed and sore. We will have to wait and see if this is why I’m not being very friendly toward other animals. I have a beautiful floofy ginger coat, almost the same color as a graham cracker. Regular brushing helps keep my coat in good condition and I’m fine with it except for when you get too close to my belly and back end. Do you like chatty kitties? I have lots of stories to tell. I almost always answer back when you talk to me but I will also be the one to start a conversation because I like lots of attention. Another thing I like to do to get your attention is put my paws on your leg when you’re getting my food ready. I love food and I get so excited about it that I have to tell you to hurry up – so it’s a good idea to keep my toes trimmed! I’m pretty good about the trims. I love being petted, especially on my head, my cheeks, and my chin. I love to be close to you and will follow you around the house – I love to sit next to you on the couch or by your feet, and I also like to sprawl out on the kitchen floor behind you. Be careful you don’t step on me! I also love to play, of course. Tunnels, wands, and springs are the best. I am really good about using the scratching post, I like carpet ones and cardboard ones. And I never have any litter box accidents. **Medical: I have an inappropriate autoimmune response to the normal bacteria in my mouth, which is causing my gums to become very inflamed and sore. We are still working on my treatment** To donate to my ongoing care please e-transfer to amanda@pawsinneedrescue.com Would you like to give me time to become part of your family when I’m feeling better? https://www.pawsinneedanimalrescue.com/apply-to-adopt-a-cat.html |
Lando-Medical Hold
Name: Lando
Gender: Male Age: 8 years (approx in 2021) Breed: Domestic Short Hair Rescue Story: Owner Surrender Good with Dogs?: I would do best as an only cat. Good with Cats?: I would do best as an only cat Good with Kids?: Older kids for me due to my age Hello I am Lando! I may look like a big black panther, but in reality I am a big love bug. I love my belly scratches and will stretch out for them. I am just learning again how to play as my mom had to surrender me after 7 years and my older sibling (14) didn't want to play. She originally got me from the Humane Society as a kitten with a litter that had no momma. I love being pet and will purr from the love! I like to drink out of the taps and my current foster mom is trying different fountains. I love messing with her, I'm a big goofy guy! I am ok with kids as long as they come to me slowly, but I would prefer older, quieter kids. I love that red dot and will try to catch it, Lazer Tag Fanatic! I also love my rope toy or any long toy, I chase it & will drag it around. I love to sleep in my new foster mom's bed and try to catch her fingers under the blanket. I love to snuggle close all night! I am a chonky boi who could use some slimming up. I am litter box trained. I like to follow you wherever you go & keep you company! I am very dependent on "my person". I also like to talk to you! Meow! If you are looking for an older dapper man who just wants to love & be loved apply for me today! **Medical: When I was returned from the adoption I was having some health issues, turns out I have a mass in my mouth and need to get it removed before I can find my furever home** Interested in donating to my care please e-transfer amanda@pawsinneedrescue.com |
